Two nights (11 and 12 September) in the rain forests of Olympic National Park.  I drove out to the Queets River camp ground and spent Friday night trying to capture some star photos after a nice walk on the Sams River loop trail. Saturday morning I forded the rive and walked seven miles up river, returned to camp, walked the Sams River loop trail again and slept like a moss covered log.  Sunday I headed over to Lake Quinault to the Quinault Rain Forest Ranger Station and took the camera for a walk out to the old Kestner homestead. I then drove around to the South Shore Ranger Station and sampled the Quinault National Recreation Trail system- doing the 4 mile loop from Falls Creek Campground plus a walk out to a Sitka Spruce of substantial size.
